FESTIVAL DE LA COFRATERNIDAD AMAZÓNICA
(Festival of Amazonian Friendship)

The festival takes place each year, from July 15th through July 20th. It looks to foment cultural, social, and economic integration among the countries sharing borders in the Amazon Basin, and it features a beauty contest, canoe races, other sport events, a crafts fair, gastronomic tasting, a meeting of shamans from the Amazon Basin Region, and a military parade on the 20th of July – Colombia’s Independence Day.
